CSD Contact Centers is a for–profit subsidiary of Communication Service for the Deaf, Inc (CSD). Our parent company is a non–profit organization committed to providing broad–based community services and accessibility for the deaf and hard–of–hearing. CSD was established in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1975 and offered only American Sign Language Interpreter services. By 1981, it had established the first 24–hour TTY interpreter service, and had implemented many social programs. In 1987, the first state–wide toll free TTY relay services were offered. Since that time, CSD has grown into a call center powerhouse.
Today, CSD is the world's largest telecommunications relay and human services organization, operating 28 call centers across the nation and processing over 30 million calls each year with more than 100 million minutes of service. Over one third of the U.S. now has at least one CSD facility providing tools that develop self–actualization and independence for the deaf and hard–of–hearing. Because of its commitment to quality, CSD was named by the Annual Call Center Exhibition (ACCE) as a "Global Call Center of the Year" for 2004, one of nine companies worldwide to be so recognized.
